A newer variety of aroma hop in the noble vein, Celeia provides a pleasant hoppy aroma and peppery tingle on the palate. Celeia proves excellent as a bittering hop and often finds utilization in English and Belgian-style Ales, Lager and Pilsner style beers.
Typical A. A: 3.0 – 6.5%
Possible substitutions: Czech Saaz, Hallertau Mittelfruh, Styrian Goldings
Application Tip:
For Irish Red ale as a late bittering hop (45 Min. remaining), Celeia provides a peppery quality, complementing the rich sweetness from 45L and 118L caramel malts utilized in the grist.
In Amber lager, the hop variety complements the malt sweetness typical of the style while adding hoppy, floral notes to the aroma.
For Saison styles, the varietal ably matches the phenolic spiciness and fruit of the Belgian or French Saison yeast
For lighter hued Belgian styles such as wit, saison, tripel, strong or blond, the hop perfectly provides a peppery spice and floral aromatics to the finished beer.
