Contributes body, color and head retention to Red ales, Reddish lagers, Bocks, Browns, Alt Beers and Amber Wheats. Perfect for adding red color values to red ales and Vienna lagers, Cara Reds slightly aromatic qualities adds gentle maltiness as well as some body to finished beer.

Application Tip:
As an alternative to 20L Caramel malt, Carared can be utilized in Pale Ales at a rate of 3-5%. For a 5-gallon recipe of a Oktoberfest lager, use 1/4 lb. (2.3%) Carared in conjunction with a .40 lb. (3.7%) Caraaroma to gain the right color and residual sweetness for the style.
For Dopplebocks, a small percentage of the grist 3.7% or ½ lb of Carared for a 5 gallon batch will contribute to the overall maltiness and color of the finished beer.
Configure the recipe to include 39.1% Dark Munich Malt, 39.1% Munich Malt, 11.2% Floor Malted Pilsner, 3.7% Carared, 2.8% Caramunich III, 2.8% Melanoidin Malt and 1.2% Carafa Special III
