Cara-Pils dextrine malt adds body, head retention properties and stability to the beer without influencing color or aroma. Designed to upgrade all styles of beer, including lighter hued beers, Carapils Malt is non-fermentable and proves advantageous in balancing body and flavor of dark colored beers. Carapils Malt may be used with or without other specialty malts and has the full glassiness of a caramel malt. Devoid of enzymes, Carapils Malt can be steeped in hot water for extract batches or included in the mash or Partial Mash or all-grain recipes.
Low usage rates of 1-10% will achieve desired results.

To add head retention and bodifying properties to most beers, include the malt in recipes at the rate of 1-10%
For an American IPA, specify a recipe with 81.1% American 2-row, 7.7% German Vienna, 7.7% Carapils Malt and 3.5% US Caramel Malt 40L. Hop with Columbus, Cascade, Centennial and Citra for 64 IBUs and ferment with Wyeast 1272 All American Ale yeast. O.G. 1.062.
