Weyermann CARAMUNICH Type 1 is a drum-roasted caramel malt made from two-row, German barley. It contributes dark amber to copper hues, and adds a rich malt accent with notes of biscuit and an intense caramel aroma. CARAMUNICH Type 1 also add body and improve head retention. Suitable for use in all lager and ale styles of beer.

Application Tip:
For a Bohemian Pilsner, specify 2.7% - 3.4% CaraMunich I malt to cast a golden hue to the finished beer. For a version of the aforementioned Bohemian Pilsner, create a recipe with 82% Floor Malted Bohemian Pilsner malt, 10.9% Carafoam and 2.7% CaraMunich I. To properly acidify the wort, add in 2.2 - 4.4% Acidulated malt depending upon the water profile and the amount of alkalinity in the local water supply.
