Nearly black in hue, the Irish Stout is a recipe for a dark, roasty, creamy and medium-bodied ale, Finishing dry due to the roasted barley addition, the included Malto-dextrin is responsible for a thick, long-lasting head in Brewers Best version of the classic style.
Contents of the kit include: ingredients, bottle caps, priming sugar, and brewing procedures.
Fermentables: 3.3 pounds of Dark Liquid Malt Extract (LME); 2 pounds of Dark Dried Malt Extract (DME); and 1/2 pound of Maltodextrin.
Specialty grains: 12 ounces of Caramel 60L, 4 ounces Roasted Barley, and 4 ounces of Black Patent.
Hops: 1 ounce of Magnum hops and 1/2 ounce Northern Brewer (hops may vary due to availability).
Yeast: 1 sachet.

Application Tip:
To upgrade the yeast to a liquid culture, purchase the Wyeast 1084 Irish Ale yeast separately. Enhancing the roast notes from the dark malts, the strain, at lower temperatures ferments dry and crisp while at warmer fermentation temperatures the yeast produces more fruity aromas and flavors. (Additional yeast sold separately.)
