The Brewers Best Continental Pilsner recipe was created to replicate the classic style of the Czech Republic. The pilsner malt extract produces a beer the hue of straw and ferments to dryness with ample hop bitterness. Included in the kit is a lager yeast for fermenating at colder temperatures (46 - 58F). The versatlle strain also performs well while fermenting at ale temperatures (62 - 75F).
Contents of this kit include: ingredients, bottle caps, priming sugar, and brewing procedures.
Fermentables: 3.3 pounds of Pilsen Liquid Malt Extract (LME) and 2 pounds of Pilsen Dried Malt Extract (DME).
Specialty grains: 12 ounces of Pilsen and 8 ounces of Carapils®.
Hops: (3) 1/2 ounce packs of Liberty hops (hops may vary due to availability).
Yeast: 1 sachet.

Application Tip:
To upgrade the yeast to a liquid culture, purchase the Wyeast 2001 Pilsner Urquell Lager yeast separately. Providing a clean and neutral fermentation, the strain ferments dry and crisp, creating a subtle malt profile and assertive hop character. (Additional yeast sold separately.)
